  2. Pour liquid metal into the mold

  4. Breakaway the sand and remove the casting

The first step is assembling the sand mold, which is basically creating the mold. It includes the arrangement of cop and drag. The casting flask can be a wood or metal frame; it includes molding sand. Sand is poured on the cope to create the pattern, the core and gating system are covered, and it is filled with half a layer of sand. After filling, the sand is compacted by vibration. 

Once the mold is formed, this arrangement of the cope is removed from the drag. Now the Pattern is extracted, but it must be done very precisely to avoid breaking. As to fill the liquid metal, the mold is greased to facilitate easy casting removal. The mold is secured with certain arrangements to ensure that the liquid metal will not leak. An arrangement is made to pour the molten liquid into the mold as the liquid is hot; the cavity is made through a gating system and then poured into a mold using the pouring cup. Next, the object is broken out of the sand mold when the casting has cooled.
