5 Tech Trends to Watch in 2023

Technology is completely transforming our day-to-day lives. As technology evolves at an ever-faster rate, we have far more might and power in the palm of our hands than we have ever had in the history of human existence. Technological advancements have dramatically altered how we interact with the world around us. With the gradual shift from everyday things such as books to e-books, photo albums to cloud galleries, letters to emails, fiat currencies to crypto-currencies, and reality to virtual reality, we are experiencing a revolution.

With each passing year, these new technologies are getting better and better, scientists have now become modern magicians. We all are surrounded by the wonders of new inventions, from headsets to smartwatches and from Instagram to Metaverse; our entire lives are being continuously molded by these progressions in technology. The influence of technological development has its impacts even on the core and important sectors such as health care, governance, news media, crime bursting, communications, etc.

With this in mind, we are going to discuss the top five technological trends, which we expect shall be the driving forces of the tech world in 2023.

Top 5 Technology Trends to Watch in 2023

1) 3D Modeling

3D modeling: Technology trend of 2022

One of the technological trends we expect to see in 2023 is 3D modeling. It is the technique employed to create three-dimensional virtual depictions and representations of an object. To understand it in simpler words, 3D Modeling is just like sketching digitally with the aid of specialized software. The difference will be that your 3D Modeled characters can behave interactively.  The future of 3D modeling is bright. It is already used in animation, games, data visualization, 3D printing, architecture, engineering, etc.

The most advanced part of 3D modeling is its application in 3D Printing. Until recently, 3D printing was seen as a science confined to the world’s most advanced laboratories. Now, it is an ever-growing industry, and 3D printers are like sorcery of science; they can print anything which can be digitally modeled through 3D Modeling. Along with this, the juiciest part is; its medical application. Scientists were able to print a mouse heart with the help of 3D Modeling. This shows how fertile the future is for complex 3D modeling. This will allow manufacturers of various goods to produce products with higher quality and better precision. Plus, it will enable a wide variety of customizations in a product. We will see homes built with the help of 3D Modeling; colossal engineering pieces of machinery will also be produced at large scales.

Animated and Science fiction movies rely heavily on VFX (Visual effects) produced by hardcore coding. But with the advent of 3D Modeling, we will be able to watch more interactional and appealing visuals in the upcoming movies of 2023. To get started in 3D modeling, you will need a 3D modeling software. There are many 3D design software that are available, but we prefer SelfCAD as it is easy to use and you can use it to create both simple and complex models. The interface has been developed in such a manner that only the most important tools are included and most of them are reusable. You can use the same tool to perform different actions. There are also interactive tutorials that ensure that you learn with much ease and you are able to understand all the tools of SelfCAD as quickly as possible.

2) CryptoCurrency

It is a subject that is fascinating, complicated, and fabulously misunderstood. If I define it, it is a non-physical currency with no central regulator, no intermediary, immutable records, and is not confined to geographic boundaries. A decentralized digital currency is designed through advanced encryption techniques and runs on a blockchain. In 2023, our economy will be widely affected by the surge in Cryptocurrencies and assets and this is why this is one of the technology trends we need to watch in 2023.

Think for a moment about— money with the capacity of being programmed for the purpose you want. You can track and see where people are spending it. That’s the thing about crypto. It could serve as the ultimate solution for corruption. And not only this, Cryptocurrency has many promises to offer. It is relatively transparent and impossible to counterfeit. Besides this, it fosters financial inclusion and creates competition. The world of finance will take a radical turn with the advent of digital currencies. This year, we will also see the introduction of CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) by the Reserve Bank of India.

However, one crucial concern about Cryptos is its environmental impact. Friends, running this crypto enterprise on the blockchain requires brutal and intensive computational power, which in turn consumes enormous energy. According to Cambridge Electricity Consumption Index, global bitcoin mining currently consumes about 80 terawatt-hours of electricity annually, close to what is consumed by the nation of Finland. No wonder why Elon Musk and the Chinese have denounced them lately. If crypto is going to be the future technology, it cannot run on the fuels of the past. We can plug in the energy gap through renewable sources, create solar coins or carbon credits, and wrap a currency around it, like a CBDC.

3) Electric Cars

Electric cars (or EVs for short) is one of the technology trends we need to watch in 2023. Elecric cars are the future of the automobile industry. 2023 will be remembered as the take-off year for Electric automobiles. It’s time that India has to move quickly from conventional vehicles to more sustainable and eco-friendlier ones.  Here comes the electric car in the picture. See, an electric car is simply a car that runs on energy stored in rechargeable batteries. It reduces our carbon footprint and is less expensive to operate and maintain. Since electricity is cheaper than fuel, the running costs of EVs are less compared to conventional cars. Plus, they are also incredibly fast and silent, which is why India is among the few nations supporting the worldwide EV30@30 initiative, which aims to ensure that by 2030, at least 30% of new vehicles sold will be electric.

Now, let me ask you a question, how many of you are planning to buy an electric car in 2023? Very few! See, the problem with Electric vehicles in India is that it is going through a vicious loop. Car manufacturers are hesitant to invest in new models of electric cars because there are inadequate numbers of charging stations, and the government and other stakeholders are indecisive in establishing new stations because there are insufficient numbers of electric vehicles. If we had a company that could do both, wouldn’t that be amazing! Well, Tata motors, along with Tata Power, has decided to set up 300 fast-charging stations at publicly accessible locations by mid-2023. Plus, due to increasing demand, other automobile companies are also planning to roll out new e-car models.

4) Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is the intelligence shown by machines. This revolutionary technology has given birth to a dramatically different class of machines that can think,  reason, and solve problems. It is already filtering spam from our inboxes, correcting our spelling mistakes, driving our cars, and deciding what will appear on top of our social media feeds. A revolution is unfolding. The forthcoming year will be deeply affected by new developments in Artificial Intelligence. 2023 will witness novel marvels such as improvement in prevention and detection of fraud, better assessment of creditworthiness, automated stock trading, precise diagnosis of diseases, and exponential growth of companies, all because of artificial intelligence.  As more and more data is generated every second, it will empower Machine learning and Deep learning, which will, in turn, enhance the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence.

We have already seen the integration of our cell phones and web browsers with Artificial Intelligence. 2023 will embrace the presence of Artificial Intelligence in many more spheres of life. We will get to see more intelligent and capable machines around us.

5) Data Analytics

The world we are living in is being driven by data. Lots and lots of data. We all are constantly creating it, consuming it, and accumulating it. Digitally speaking, all of us are breathing data in and out. Currently, the projections show that approximately 2.5 quintillion bytes of data are created every day (that's 2.5 plus 18 zeros!). It seems like pretty much just by existing; we’re creating data. This tremendous explosion of data has opened a horizon of possibilities for those who can harness its power. Data has become the black gold, the lifeblood, the new oil of the 21st Century. If data is the new oil, data analytics is the combustion engine. To put it more sophistically, data analytics is the science of translating vast amounts of raw data into meaningful information, thereby enabling better decision-making. For example, businesses now leverage real-time metrics tracking and data gathering for everything from their marketing performance to time and labor management to ensure productivity and continuously improving business performance. See, analysis brings insight. Data that sits raw, as it is, has no value whatsoever. It’s what you do with it that provides value. 2023 will be the year of extracting meaning and value from this abundant data.

Conclusion

These technologies are just the trailer of what is going to show up in the coming years. We hope you got the idea of how these technologies will shape the world ahead. The world in the future will be much faster, better, and enjoyable due to this leap of advancement in the technological sector.
