How to 3D Design Posters Using Typography With a Little Twist
With SelfCAD, you can easily create and shape 3D text in ways that are difficult with regular 2D tools. We have chosen SelfCAD, an intuitive 3D design tool that makes it easy to create and customize text with unique effects. Start by launching SelfCAD and open the workspace:
On the toolbar, select the Text Generator from the Generators category:
Type the text as SelfCAD can change your life and set the parameters as shown. Then tick the check mark to finalize the text:
Select the 3D Sketch tool from the Drawing category and select the Back/Front plane. Select the Circle tool and click on the highlighted point to draw the circle:
Draw the circle as shown and click “X” to close the 3D Sketch panel:
Select the profile and the text. Select Follow Path tool from the Tools category. Set the mode to Wrap, Weight to 51, Taper to 72 and turn Set Tangent to False:
Tick the check mark to finalize Follow Path. Click Isolate to hide the text and the profile:
Select Twist tool from the Deform category:
Twist Y by -30 and click “X” to close the transformation:
Select a Cube from the 3D Shapes and set the parameters as follows:
Tick the check mark to finalize the cube. Click on the Color Picker and select the grey color and then click ok to confirm the color:
Select the text mesh and then click on the Color Picker again. Select the pink color then click ok to apply it:
There you go, you have made a poster using the typography and other transformation tools:
