Importing and Assembling a Pre-modeled Volcano in SelfCAD

Using pre-made models in 3D projects greatly improves efficiency, quality, and creativity, making them a valuable resource for both beginners and experienced professionals. Using the pre-modeled objects helps to integrate 3D modeling into instructional education in various ways. 3D modeling helps students see and understand complex ideas more clearly. This is especially useful in subjects like science, engineering, and Geography, where it’s important to grasp how things fit together in space.

Steps of Importing and Assembling Pre-modeled Volcano With Smoke

In this section, you'll learn how to import a pre-modeled volcano with smoke and then assemble the different parts of the volcano together. You can follow the interactive tutorial to learn how it was designed. In summary, start by launching SelfCAD and open the workspace:

SelfCAD launches

From the Files, click Import to import the models of the volcano:

Once you have imported the objects, it will look as follows:

Using 3D modeling to teach internal land processes in Geography can be very effective. Students can explore the layers of the Earth, including the crust, mantle, and core, and understand how these layers interact during geological events. 3D models help students see how internal land processes like tectonic plate movements, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes work in a more detailed and interactive way.
