How to 3D Model a Bracelet Chain in SelfCAD

3D modeling and printing have changed the way jewelry is designed. Now, making detailed and personalized jewelry, like bracelet chains, is possible for anyone with the right tools and skills. This process lets designers turn their digital ideas into real, physical objects, offering more creativity and accuracy than traditional methods.

SelfCAD is a powerful and easy-to-use 3D design tool created for both beginners and professionals. Select the Torus from the 3D Shapes:

Set the parameters of the torus as follows and tick the check mark to finalize the shape:

Select the Bend Tool from the Deform category:

Set the plane to Back/Front and set Y to 180. Click “X” to close the transformation panel:

Activate the Rotate object and rotate Y by setting to 50. Click “X” to close the transformation panel:

Select the Copy Offset from the Tools category:

Set the operation to Pivot, and the number of copies to 42. Then click Copy:

Then click “X” to close the copy offset panel:

The next step is to group the copies together. On the top toolbar, on the Edit menu, select Group and the objects will be grouped together:

You can then give the chain the color of your choice by clicking on the Color Picker button and choose the color you prefer:
